Ideas for New Year Resolutions
Dec 30th, 2011 by admin

Have you ever made a New Year’s Resolution?  Who hasn’t?  This past week, I have been seeing many different resolutions posted on Facebook that are good ones to think about using for your own New Year’s Resolutions.

Here are a few of them:

Stop runniing away!

This could be from a relationship, from your problems, from your mistakes, from your opportunities, from your family, from your friends!

Be yourself!

This could be to yourself, around your family, around your friends, take off the mask, let people know your true feelings!

Think Big!

This could be at your work, with your career, with a relationship!

Play More!

These are a few, and I will add more over the next couple of days left in this year 2011!

New Year’s Resolutions

Today is the last day of 2010!  Just the thought that tomorrow will be 2011 and that another year has passed, is enough to make most of us reflect back on the events and activities of the past year and then think ahead to the prospect of doing better in the New Year!

What about you? Do you have these thoughts and feelings?

So, that being said, what are your Resolutions?

I was looking at the Top 10 Resolutions and found several that would be on my top 10 list.

Number One is and will probably always be number one, Spend More Time With Family!

Who couldn’t say that would be a top resolutions?

Another one is regarding our health and fitness.  This could be two resolutions, eat more healthy and go to the gym!  I bet one or both of these is on your list!  How many of us have bought gym memberships and then never used them?  Why don’t we make a resolution to just walk up a flight of stairs each day or do some sit-ups or some push-ups?

Doctors tell us that it is simply doing a small amount of some exercise that will make the difference in the long run, more that a big effort once in a while! It’s called the Exercise Habit.

Then of course, there is our business resolutions which could be in the form of sales goals, production goals, responsibility, advancement, and more!

Have you set these in place for 2011?

It’s not too late to plan. You know what they say about planning?

So there it is and here it is - 2011!

Looking forward to seeing you in 2011!

Happy New Year!

Thoughts on keeping a Listing Active during the Holidays

Many people ask me what I think about having their home on the market during the Holiday?  Should we take it off and put it back on after New Year’s day?  Will there be any traffic through it?

First let me say there are many different situations that exist out there and rarely are two of the the same, that being said, here are my reason for staying on the market.

1. Relocation buyers come into town during the Holidays to look for their next home.  They are definite buyers that are going to make a decision in a short time.  Taking your home off the market during the Holidays eliminates these buyers.

2. The Holiday Spirit is also a factor, and seeing a home decorated for the Holidays gives the buyers a warm fuzzy about the house!

3.  Buyers in the marketplace at this time of the year, are serious buyers!  Don’t miss out on them looking at your house!

4.  There are fewer hours of daylight!  Why is that a reason?  It means you are inconvenienced less by having a short  window of showing daylight.  Usually, this means no showings during the week because it is dark at 4:30 pm!  this means you only need to keep the house picked up and clean on the weekends!  Yea!

5.  Less competition!  Usually there are fewer homes on the market to compete against.

6.  Last, but not least by any means, the interest rates are still 50-year lows!

There are probably other reasons, but these should help convince you to keep it ACTIVE on the MLS!

Happy  Hanukkah!  Merry Christmas!  Happy New Year!  Happy selling!
